Getting around
Our own favorite places and activities in the area. Recommendations for discovering the beautiful, varied surroundings of Wald Am Arlberg, nearby (about 20 min. car max.) various starting points for a sporty start to the day:
1. Klostertal (incl. Klösterle, Stuben, Wald am Arlberg)
2. Lechertal (including Lech)
3. Montafon (e.g. Kristberg, Schruns, St.Anton i.M.)
4. Brandertal (incl. Brand, Bürsenberg)
Tip 1 Hike into the Silbertal
In the Klostertal, the hikes can start from the chalet. A nice day hike is the tour from the Sonnenkopf through the Silbertal to the Kristberg. Here you can have a nice lunch and continue hiking on the road to the Sonnenkopf or via Dalass back. To start early, then you can see many marmots in the valley. Mountain station - Muttjöchle - mountain station or mountain station - Kristberg - Dalaas The Sonnenkopf round trip on the Kristberg in Silbertal, the gourmet mountain (montafon.at) The natural swimming pool in Klösterle (5 minutes by car) is wonderful in warm weather to end the day. Is open for a long time, nice swim and have a drink. Good place! almwasserpark (oase-k77.at)
Tip 2 E-Bike Tour to Lake Foramin (Lech)
Drive via Stube to Lech to pick up e-bikes from Intersport for a great cycling day. Book the bikes in time! The route leads through the village towards Formaninsee, a great tour where you have to look at the desired route yourself. A huge climb that is rewarded with a beautiful setting. After a nice lunch in one of the huts a hard descent towards Lech.
In fine weather, don't forget to pack your bathing suit into your backpack: On the descent just before Lech, there is a fantastic swimming pool in the forests of Lech www.intersport-arlberg.com E Bike rental, reservation!! Tip 3 Montafon
Behind the Sonnenkopf, which you can see from the chalet, lies the Montafon valley. In the valley there are several smaller towns, with Schruns being the largest city. In the Montafon there is really a lot to do for a sporting area. Via Intersport, e-bikes can also be rented here and various beautiful excursions can be made here. Many hiking trails of all levels of difficulty. Large outdoor pool with natural pool in Schruns. Enough to see and experience, in about 20 minutes you are in the Montafon. If you drive through the whole valley, you will come to the Silveretta High Alpine Road, a must for lovers of hairpin bends!
Tip 4 Brandnertal
Here are some top addresses. First, the bike park: look at the link and see what possibilities there are. A lot to do for young and old and certainly for the real daredevils. The sun terrace offers a great place to see it all or relax after an exciting descent. www.bikepark-brandertal.at Further down the valley you come to the beautiful mountain village of Brand. At the very end of the valley, past Brand, is the cable car to Lünersee: a large reservoir that can be used as a starting point for one- or several-day hikes. Great combination with a brisk mountain hike on the way home and good food on fire! Tip: Steakhouse on fire turned out to be a surprise: tastiest meat ever. Don't forget to get advice on a suitable wine.
